What is the size of a team?
There has to be at least six players in a team. The games are played with five players on the field. Experiences of players tell us that it is very hard to play soccer in the sand. We strongly recommend you to take at least two back up players with you. There is no maximum amount of players you can bring. The more, the merrier!
What is the minimum age to participate?
Participating in the Beach Soccer Dames tournaments is for ladies with the age of 16 or older. When they are younger they can participatie, but only attented by an adult (trainer or coach). In doubt we are free to ask for identification. Teams under the age of 16 can compete in a special competition for girls. Are teams placed by level?
The organization tries to place teams in the poule of their level. The level of competition on the field often does not stroke with the level of beach soccer. On the beach play some qualities, like communication, tactics and condition a bigger part than on the field. When a team signs up for a tournament it is necessary to choose a level of play, which the teams thinks they can handle. When there are not enough entries on a specific level, more levels will be combined into one competition.

Is there a difference between the indoor and outdoor rules?
Yes, there is a difference. Indoor beach soccer is played with different rules than outdoor beach soccer. Indoor there is often a limited space, so the rules has to be adapted to this. With outdoor beach soccer, the weather conditions has to be taken into account. You can find the rules on our website.
What happens to my entry fee when I cancel a player or the whole teams?
The restitution of the entry fee depends on the time of cancellation. More than four weeks before the tournament: restitution of 75% of the entry fee 4-2 weeks before the tournament: restitution of 50% of the entry fee Less than 2 weeks before the tournament: restitution of 25% of the entry fee.
Do I get my money back when a tournament is cancelled?
When cancellation of a tournament happened without the fault of the organization, there will be no restitution of the entry fee. The organization will look if it is possible to compensate the teams, this will happen with a free entry to another tournament.
When will the organization decide to cancel the tournament?
The organization will stand in immediate contact with a weather bureau and the people from the local rescue. Together with those people we decide to start or cancel the tournament, or delay the tournament until further notice. Until 11:00 am we check the possibilities to still start the tournament. In the meantime we keep the teams posted about the developments and weather predictions. If there is no improvement in sight at 11:00 am, we are compelled to cancel the tournament. A tournament will not be cancelled quickly. It is possible to play beach soccer in bad weather. The biggest hurdle is the wind, or a thunderstorm. Even when it is raining cats and dogs, the tournament can go on. Only when the wind power is above 7 beaufort it is no longer possible to play beach soccer. When there is thunder and lightning everybody has to go off the beach, it is strictly forbidden to be on the beach with a thunderstorm. Please keep in mind that the area of the event will not be complete when there is a strong wind or when it is raining. We are obliged to protect our participants and our materials.
How about our safety?
During the tournament everyone is obliged to follow the instructions of the organizations, the accompanists and the staff of the beach clubs and the camping site. Is there anyone with first aid present? The organization makes sure that during every Beach Sport Nederland tournament there is a professional and certified man or women present, who can treat and nurse injuries.
What about the accountability?
The employees of the Beach Sport Nederland tournaments, the referees and sponsors cannot be held accountable for:
- Injuries gained during Beach Sport Nederland tournaments.
- The loss, theft and/ or destruction of possessions of participants during (and on the ground of) the Beach Sport Nederland tournaments.
People who will cause harm during the tournaments will be held accountable for the damage they have done. The organization will redress the damage on this person.
